BDA initiative “career in germany – young skilled workers for Germany”

The competitiveness of the German economy depends decisively on well qualified workers. The impact of demographic change is being felt even today. In some sectors, the need for skilled employees can no longer be met using the domestic potential. Immigration aligned on labour market requirements is urgently needed to head off damaging consequences for German competitiveness. It makes an essential contribution to innovation, growth and prosperity. Hence, we need a clear shift away from a decades-old categorisation to a true welcoming culture which is credibly implemented, embraced and clearly flagged to the outside world. This is a challenge for all players in policy-making, business and society.

The BDA initiative “career in germany – young skilled workers for Germany” is addressed to business organisations, companies as well as young people with an interest in a training place and skilled workers from abroad. It pools important information for support, networking and commitment in the sphere of immigration.

The online platform “career-in-germany.net” summarises the manifold information available and serves as a pilot by giving an overview of wide range of service offers and its objectives. In addition, it is intended that the exchange of good real-life examples will be promoted here. Many companies and business organisations already actively try to attract young people with an interest in a training place and skilled workers from abroad and or have successfully integrated foreign trainees and skilled workers in their everyday business.

The portal offers information from the perspective of companies as well as from the angle of skilled workers and potential trainees.
